Meet the Team

Stephen Andre, Owner

Owning a farm is where dominion and stewardship intersect.  I count it as an honor and a  privilege to work within God's grand design.  Networking with other farms, neighbors and trades has been fulfilling, led to many friendships and illuminated the idea behind community and belonging.

Jenn Andre, Owner

Growing up on our family farm in Ireland, I fell in love with donkeys and their gentle spirits. I have always been drawn to their playful personalities and the simple happiness they bring to those around them.

When we first moved to Stuyvesant, I used to admire a local breeder’s farm and call it “Donkey Heaven,” dreaming of one day having a place just like it. I am thrilled to share that after a lot of hard work on our farm, we have finally made that dream a reality.

Having my own “Donkey Heaven” is such a gift. These mini donkeys brighten every day with their big hearts and curious natures. They are incredibly sweet and calm, turning even the simplest moments into something special. They bring me so much joy, and I am grateful to have them in my life.

Jason Demarest, Farm Manager

Graduate of Oregon State University

Bachelor of Science

Fish and Wildlife Management

Born and raised in the Hudson Valley. My education in the biological sciences coupled with construction technologies and building practices have allowed me to segway into best farming practices and animal husbandry. In this role daily tasks evolve, and you must learn to adapt on the move. From gestational observations to heavy equipment operations this role requires a 3-dimensional perspective along a temporal and spatial continuum. All senses are employed.

Deb Gersch, Animal Caretaker

Been an animal lover my whole life, especially horses.    So I was very excited when new neighbors arrived with their donkey herd.    I quickly fell in love with my long eared neighbors.    I am fortunate that the Andres share their donkeys and let me help out on the farm.    The donkeys are so smart and sweet, I always look forward to spending time with them.

Arlo “The Great”

Our Pyrenean Mastiff livestock guardian dog.  In the Old English, "Arlo" means "fortified hill".  Arlo is a giant breed who will likely weigh in at about 200lbs when fully grown!
